The Bluewater Shopping Mall in Kent is celebrating Christmas with a superb Christmas installation of The Twelve Days of Christmas. As you walk around the mall, large displays hang from the ceiling depicting each day. Beautifully designed and executed, they certainly make a statement. Even the topiary bushes are adorned with decorations and the words.
The Twelve Days of Christmas is an English Christmas carol although thought to be of French origin. It is a cumulative song, each verse building on top of the previous verse, enumerating a series of increasingly grand gifts given to each of the twelve days of Christmas: A Partridge in a pear tree, 2 Turtle Doves, 3 French Hens, 4 Calling Birds, 5 Gold Rings, 6 Geese a Laying, 7 Swans a Swimming, 8 Maids are Milking, 9 Ladies Dancing, 10 Lords are Leaping, 11 Pipers Piping, 12 Drummers Drumming.
Thank you for reading my blog over the last few months, and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
